Who We Are
CoWA is a local NGO founded in 1987 as a company limited by guarantee without share to answer to the needs of St. Kizito students to link them to the job market through internship and job placements. It was then, registered as an NGO in 2000, freely helping jobless people to enter into the labor market and or become entrepreneurs.
Over the years CoWA, has been focusing on human development projects with a particular emphasis on education to work. In any project, attention is focused on the defense of the dignity of the person at work, who is the cornerstone of any meaningful development.
Our Method of Work
We believe that “If you want to build a ship do not gather men to collect materials and do not distribute duties. Instead, teach them the nostalgia of the wide and infinite sea.
To facilitate access to the labor market and encourage the development of enterprises through a net of relationships based on mutual esteem and active partnerships.
We strive for meaningful and decent work for everyone in Kenya. (In line with #8 Sustainable Development Goals)
OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES
The organization focuses on human development projects with a particular emphasis on education to work and the defense of the dignity of the person at work, who is the cornerstone of any meaningful development.
Concept of Work:
We conceive work as the desire of the human being to participate in the building of a greater good that could last for the benefit of future generations. We are a Companionship at Work.
The value of the person:
Our behavior recognizes the value of the individual and our awareness of the great importance that work has for him or her. We believe that companies should have an educational role in People’s lives
CoWA believes in holistic education in the preparation of the youths to meet the challenges of living as well as academics. This helps young people to learn about what it means to be human.
CoWA encourages partnerships in achieving its mission which is based on mutual esteem and active friendship
